FAQs about hotels in Vienna

Waltz Through the Pretty Streets of Vienna

Previously the centre of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current centre of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.

St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you’'re visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Vienna’s 200 glamorous annual balls.

Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.

Vienna International Airport is the doorway to the heart of Vienna. Booking.com has luxury hotels, charming bed & breakfasts and modern apartments to meet any accommodation needs for your stay in Austria’s capital.

    Vienna is a wonderful city.

Vienna is a wonderful city. We enjoyed the food tour and the visit to the Wein Museum. We also enjoyed one of the many concerts available. Our visit to the Albertina Museum was a bit underwhelming for the price and for what was on display. We enjoyed Sunday Mass at the Augustine Cathedral. Definitely buy the 24 hour to week-long passes for city transportation. Between the underground, the trolleys and the buses you will be able to get anywhere and rarely have to wait more than a few minutes. We left much to yet to see and experience.

Beautiful town with amazing architecture. Very easy to move around, either walk or ride around using the city transport. Our favourite place by far was The Prater amusement park. There is sa much to do and see. If you wanna add a little fun to your sightseeing then this is the place to go! The food is delicious and there is so much to choose from. Recommend - Pürstner restaurant, Aida cafe, Cafe Tirolerhof.

The U-Bahn is efficient in getting to the sights. But, entry to them is expensive. One of the best things is its nearness to Bratislava for a day trip. You have to go - the city centre of Bratislava is like Vienna's prettier little sister.

Great place to eat: Aida and Let's be Frank.

Great place to eat: Aida and Let's be Frank. You can take the tram (D) to Grinzing and choose the appropriate route to the mountain, and try local wine in the meantime. The zoo was also nice, it also takes half a day there. You can rest and simply enjoy the green areas. 3 days was just right, I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. Public transport is very convenient to use.

Vienna is wonderful. Perfect both for sightseeing, museum visiting and relaxing in coffee shops. Get Vienna Pass, it's extremely profitable if you want to visit many museums. All museums were great, I especially liked Albertina, Kunsthistorishes Museum, Narrenturm, Imperial Treasury and Weltmuseum. The Zoo was lovely. Ferris Wheel was skippable :)

Beautiful city with a lot of green areas, amazing architecture and museums. I really liked The Butterflies House, Madhouse Tower and Museum of Art. I couldn't find some places for drinking coffee or drinks in parks or nearby the river, but maybe I haven't looked for enough :-) A lot of cafeterias and restaurants are closed since Saturday's evening till Monday morning, what is a shame and odd for me. I recommend Wien to visit and see, but it will be not a return-place.

what a fantastic place this is! in the city centre of Vienna in walkable distance of some great sights and close to the main central station that has a direct connection to the airport - almost don’t want to praise this too much and keep as a secret to myself but that wouldn’t be fair to the team of grätzlhotel, as they were fantastic. a lovingly chosen and contemporary design of the room made us feel right at home and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for accommodation in Vienna!

Great location with easy access to the city center and airport transfer options; shining clean rooms, modern minimalistic design (love it!), efficient organization of room space with lots of storage, large but cozy lobby to chill with a cup of coffee and cake, kitchen in the lobby if you want to cook your own meals (which I did), super friendly, helpful staff, good WiFi, pleasant music streaming from the radio and much more. 100% recommended. It's in a decent location not too far of a walk to the Hofburg. There is a tram station at the end of the Street. It's about a 10-minute walk to the U3 U-bahn which you can take to the city center train station and pick up the airport shuttle train. It's an older Hotel the Wi-Fi is ok. The street is pretty quiet. The breakfast is good. For Vienna I rate it as a good value. In the past I've paid the same for hotel not as good and way farther out so I recommend this hotel.

The location of the hotel was very good for my purposes: Conference at the Vienna International Center. The hotel was next to the U1 line (the most useful line in Vienna), and hence I had easy access to both the conference venue and the city center and all the nice museums. The place was beautiful. The design of the hotel was very nice, there was a nice small outdoors area to relax, and the cleanness levels were exceptional. The breakfast had everything I would expect.

I chose to stay near to the Vienna Train Station (but a little bit far from city centre) so that I could easily catch the train to the Vienna International Airport on the last day. I would say the hotel is considered very near to the train station - only 1 tram station away. You have to walk to the nearest tram stop which is Alfred-Adler-Straße and ride 1 stop to Hauptbahnhof Ost S stop and you could reach the platforms in Vienna Train Station very soon.

The hotel had a fantastic modern design, and my room (which was more like a small apartment) was spacious yet cozy, complete with a small kitchenette and a charming balcony. The air conditioning worked efficiently, ensuring a comfortable stay. The hotel's location was superb, conveniently near a tram station that provided easy access to the city center and main train stations. It was an ideal choice for my short solo trip to Vienna.

City Pension felt like a 5 star hotel for the price of one. Location is unbeatable. Extremely clean, well maintained and very, very helpful staff. It shows how much the family that runs this hotel cares about their guests. At City Pension you are in the middle of the action. As we were travelling by train the location of the hotel, across the road from the mainline station, suited us. Although it is approximately 3km south of the city centre the transport links in Vienna are so good that it is very easy to get around the city.
